Another Successful Heytesbury Duck Race

Although the morning weather was grey and dull, the sun came out just as 671 ducks started their journey down the Wylye. A new team of fishermen kept them moving but having misjudged the depth of the river, became part of the race to the amusement of spectators. Two ducks were well ahead as they neared the finish line but at the end, one floundered leaving duck 204 and Will Preston this year’s winner! In 2nd place, India Eastman, 3rd place , Katie Wreford and the booby prize to Tom Asquith! Thank you to everyone who supported the race and to those who helped on dry land and in the river. A total of £1,326 was raised for the new heating system in Heytesbury church.
