The church heating is now the priority for the forthcoming year. The annual Easter Duck Race was able to go ahead this year and over £1000 was raised which has been put towards the heating. A pilot scheme has been agreed and the church has been raising funds to install a Herschel Halo Infrared chandelier in the Chancel. The chandelier contains ceramic tiles which when heated produce infrared radiation which warm people as opposed to heating the air in the church (an impossible task due to the size of our church). The chandelier creates a cone shaped zone of heat and if you are within the zone, you will feel the warmth. The system heats up within 30 minutes unlike our previous system of radiators which took about 6 hours to provide a small amount of heat. This means that we will be reducing our energy bills and also our carbon footprint as this is an electrical system.

Meanwhile, The Friends of Heytesbury, Knook & Tytherington Churches have continued with their fund-raising efforts and have contributed £5,420 in the last year to Heytesbury Church as a contribution towards the repairs on the drains and installation of WiFi in the church.

Weekly Summer Produce Sales are being held in Heytesbury Church every Saturday morning until the end of September and a Silent Auction with Raffle has been held to raise funds to be shared between the Friends of the three churches and the running costs of the village defibrillator.
